Although Beecher is known for his support for the abolition of slavery, one of the sculptures of him give a contrary view to what it's supposed to represent. One of his sculptures make him look angry and almost as if he doesn't support the abolition. He is placed on top while the women look up to him, it just gives a sad view to the fact that it supposed to represent the support of ending slavery. Besides this sad view of it, there is a completely different analysis on a different sculpture of Beecher. In the other one, he is looking to the women pointing to help them and the women are not looking up to him. It's amazing how the position and details in one's body can change the view of an image when it's supposed to represent the same thing. It's so important to pay attention to tiny details of sculpture because it leads to different analysis of sculptures.
