Today our class visited several sculptures in Downtown Brooklyn, One of those sculptures was the Henry Beecher Sculpture by John Quincey Adams. This statue was erected in 1891 and it is located on the north end of Columbus Park in front of Borough Hall. Henry Beecher stood for abolishing slavery in the 1800s. Among New Yorkers he was either loved or hated. The sculpture shows Henry as intelligent, Brave, and strong. Today the Sculpture still stands and is a very popular protesting site in todays age.
